Locations

The location for the college should be selected on the basis of existing possibilities to thematically connect and combine research contents with the social and environmental structures of the region where it is to be sited. A good example of this is provided by the UNESCO Biospheres program. Our first site selection was been guided by precisely this example and initial contacts already been made. Therefor the first feasibility studies from 2006 to 2007 focused on four locations nearby a existing biosphere:

  • The island of Ruegen and the Suedostruegen biosphere
  • The Spreewald biosphere in the south of Brandenburg
  • The Tal der kleinen Emme in Switzerland and the Entlebuch biosphere
  • The region Pay-d'Enhaut in the Swiss Canton Vaud

Further Informations about these locations you'll find -> here.

In 2009 the focus was laid to location in southern Germany and the Alps. In 2010 we are looking for two possible locations:

  • The Region Weissenburg-Gunzenhausen in Bavaria
  • The Region Freiburg in Baden-Wurttemberg

Further Informations about these locations you'll find -> hier.
