The Sage School: Human Ecology, Adolescence, and Education- A Critical Combination

 
Abstract

This presentation looks at the important relationship between Human Ecology, Adolescence, and Education. Human Ecology- how humans interact with the social, built, and natural world- should be the central framework for and the foundation of a new narrative in education. This presentation uses The Sage School, a grades 6-12 independent school in Idaho, USA, to highlight how Human Ecology is critical, why Adolescent Education is essential, and what role each of these plays in preparing students to be active and engaged citizens in the world.
