Letter of Intents to support the College of Human Ecology for Europe
The City Council of Emmendingen passes the resolution after the presentation of the results of the Charrette Emmendingen in the town hall on March, 1st 2011 to hand out the following letters of intents to encourage the settlement of the College of Human Ecology for Europe in Emmendingen.

Letter of Intent: Support for the founding of the European College of Human Ecology Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, The City of Emmendingen, located at the edge of the Black Forest in the Rhine Valley, near Freiburg (the European environmental capital), applauds the initiative of the task force ‘College of Liberal Arts and Human Ecology’ of the German Society for Human Ecology to found a European College for Human Ecology. The City Council unanimously agrees that the founding of the college in Emmendingen would be a major enrichment for the city. Therefore, the city is extremely interested in supporting the founding of the European College for Human Ecology. I, as Mayor of the City of Emmendingen and in the name of the City Council, hereby confirm our support for the founding, development, and expansion of the European College for Human Ecology in Emmendingen in accordance with all legal and planning parameters and municipal political objectives. This support includes amongst others, cooperation in the following aspects: technical advice and support for local and regional integration, the establishing and fostering of contacts to local, regional, and state authorities, businesses, institutions, organisations and groups in the region, the recruitment of students and teachers, and the assisting in the creation of the legal framework required. The task force has studied various sites in Emmendingen, amongst them the Karl-Friedrich-School. As owner of the Karl-Friedrich-School, we wish to hereby state, subject to approval of the City Council, that we are prepared to sell the building for the purpose of founding a College of Human Ecology. The board is very pleased with what has been achieved to date. The Charrette in Emmendingen, which you organized, has given this vision concrete form. We would like to express our gratitude to you personally for organizind and carrying out the Charrette. Our gratitude also extends to all participants who participated in the Charrette who donated their time and resources in order to make it a success. We the Board of DGH wish to hereby state, that we will continue to follow and support the prospected planning and future business operation of a College of Human Ecology for Europe to the best of our ability.
